Emma McMahon
Apprentice

Emma McMahon was born and raised in Iowa City, Iowa. She completed her Pre-Professional training at Nolte Academy of Dance where she studied ballet, modern, contemporary, jazz, lyrical, tap, jazz funk, and musical theater. There, she grew a deep love for multiple genres of dance. In addition to her dance training, Emma spent several years as a part of her studio’s competition team and performed in numerous musicals. She spent her summers at her home studio’s summer program, Open Doors Dance Festival, where she had the opportunity to learn from esteemed faculty from all around the world. In addition, she participated in a summer intensive with Parsons Dance and spent two summers in Seattle, Washington attending Pacific Northwest Ballet’s Summer Course. After graduating, Emma trained for two years with Nashville Ballet’s Professional Division where she learned from dedicated teachers like Anaïs Chalendard and Dmitri Kulev. At Nashville Ballet, she had the opportunity to perform lead roles including Swanhilda in Coppélia and Diana in La Esmeralda. During her time at Nashville Ballet, she also performed alongside the main company in Nashville’s Nutcracker. Emma is so excited to start her first season as a professional dancer with CIB!
