
Sahsha Amaut

Sahsha is originally from West Chester, PA and began her training at the Academy of International Ballet under the instruction of Anastasia Babayeva and Denis Gronostayskiy. After three years of training in her hometown, Sahsha enrolled in the pre-professional program at the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet under the teachings and syllabus developed by the late Marcia Dale Weary. Sahsha began her professional career as a trainee with the American Repertory Ballet in Princeton, New Jersey. She danced in Snowflakes, Flowers and Marzipan in The Nutcracker and as a Peasant and a Willi in Giselle. In 2020, Sahsha traveled to Paris to attend the Paris Marais Dance School under the direction of Maggie Boogaart and Ghislain DeCompreignac. There, she had the opportunity to study Graham, Horton, Limon, and Cunningham techniques and Contact Improvisation. She also attended workshops with choreographers Stephen Delattre, Sylvere Lamotte and Robert Swinston. Sahsha then joined Springfield Ballet Company, where she performed as a company artist. Sahsha is excited to start her second season with Central Illinois Ballet.
