Level 4

Pre-Professional Division

As a general rule, each level is intended to follow a 2 year plan. In the 1st year, the dancer is learning new technical skills and vocabulary. In the 2nd year, the dancer should proficiently demonstrate mastery of the skills in order to advance to the next level. All students progress at their own pace, if additional time would be beneficial for skill building we ask that you trust our educators and instructors to progress the dancer at a rate that is most beneficial for the individual and sets them up for long term success.

Class Opportunities
Ballet
This advanced class continues to build classical ballet technique with faster, more complex combinations. Dancers refine alignment, turn-out, and musicality while developing greater strength, control, and precision.
Pointe
This combined pointe class is designed to safely challenge each dancer at their appropriate level through tailored combinations and individual corrections. Dancers work on strength, control, alignment, and artistry en pointe, with progressions that ensure Level 4 students are building solid foundational strength while Level 5 dancers are pushed with more complex and demanding exercises.
Partnering
In Partnering, dancers learn the fundamentals of working with a partner through specialized exercises and classical pas de deux training. This class emphasizes trust, communication, and shared responsibility while developing strength, technique, balance, and spatial awareness. Dancers will gain the skills and confidence needed for partnering work and be better prepared for the demands of both classical and contemporary ballet repertoire.
Tap
At this level, dancers build upon the foundation established in soft shoe tap as they begin exploring both Broadway and rhythm tap styles. Dancers will combine the theatricality and performance quality of Broadway tap with the musicality, syncopation, and intricate rhythms of rhythm tap. Through dynamic choreography and technical exercises, students will develop greater versatility, precision, and creativity in their tap dancing.
Jazz
At this level dancers begin to learn commercial and modern jazz. This style infuses traditional and broadway jazz, elevating the technical value while maintaining the structure.
Modern
This class builds upon a strong technical foundation through continued study of Cunningham Technique. Dancers refine spinal alignment, strength, control, and dynamic movement qualities while exploring more complex modern dance concepts, artistry, and performance skills.
Hip-Hop
Dancers at this level demonstrate a solid foundation in hip-hop technique and are able to apply fundamental movements effectively within choreography. Classes will emphasize musicality, performance quality, and self-expression while introducing a range of hip-hop styles through challenging and creative choreography.
Conditioning
This class focuses on building endurance, stamina, and body awareness through conditioning and technique-based exercises. Dancers will develop the strength and focus needed to maintain proper form and technique during extended periods of movement while improving control, efficiency, and injury prevention.
Tumbling
At this level, dancers begin to expand their acrobatic skills by developing strength, agility, flexibility, and spatial awareness. Through progressive balance work, tumbling exercises, and foundational acrobatic techniques, students will build confidence, body control, and coordination while safely advancing their skills.

Performance Opportunities
Students in this level are welcome to participate in Giselle, The Nutcracker, Coppélia, Student Showcase, and Ballet to Broadway!
